The Global Wrestling Alliance kicked off Season 23 with the Riot in the Ring pay per view on Sunday, July 5, live from Philadelphia, Pennsylvania! For the sixth season in a row, the winner of the Riot would be awarded the Around the Clock contract for an opportunity to challenge the GWA World Champion any time during the season.
- Anthony Caffrey won the Riot in the Ring, last eliminating Hunter Storms, to win the Around the Clock contract.
- GWA World Champion Brewer came to the ring and claimed Anthony Caffrey would be next in a "long line of losers" to fail at converting the contract into a championship.
- GWA World Champion Brewer defeated Dexter Point via pinfall to retain the GWA World Title.
- After the match, Anthony Caffrey re-emerged at ringside but decided against using the contract on this night.
